Overview
I chose to redesign the book jacket for one of my favorite classics, Charlotte’s Web. I wanted to redesign this book because of the timeless themes of friendship, compassion, and hope that resonate with readers of all ages, and to give it a fresh, modern look that still captures its nostalgic charm.
Research
After reading the book again for the first time in years, I began to search for themes to help develop a tone and symbolism through the graphics I created.
Execution
I created a connection in my design between the graphic element of a spider web being inside the word “web.” I used a thin outline of the word “Charlotte” to overlap the title to maintain that spider web feel. The back side of the book features the author along with some more of the book characters.
