Research
A research workshop was conducted to gain a more thorough insight into student perceptions of the Bethel art + design department. Student interviews within and outside of the department were undertaken to identify themes.
Ideation
Specific themes identified in the research stage include the idea of art not just as a hobby, but also as a career, having no “box” to fit in, passionate self-expression, success of former students, and diverse individualism.
Execution
Professionalism was maintained by using grids within the designs, making a sense of order. Different graphic elements were used to demonstrate the expressiveness and fun energy of the art department.

BRAND GUIDELINES
BANNER STANDS
Banner stands for this rebrand are utilized to provide information and promote Bethel’s art + design program as they highlight the majors and minors offered. The viewer’s eye moves from one banner to the next due to the broken-up images.
BROCHURE
This is the paper brochure for the department rebrand! It is an informational guide for students interested in the department and provides them with more details on the program and what their future career after college could look like.
Research
Current art + design students were interviewed about the department’s Instagram, sharing insights on its strengths and areas for improvement. Their feedback informed a new social media strategy focused on boosting engagement.
Strategy
Four categories of content will be in the department’s social media: student artwork, alumni spotlights, “about the department” content, and student engagement. Posts will mainly feature department artwork and facts, while stories and polls will boost engagement while providing more information.
Execution
In posts, there are centered photos of artwork and alumni, highlighting and giving credit to the current or former student. Department information and facts are spread out between tiled posts and stories. Polls, questions, and merch are primarily posted on stories.

INSTAGRAM POSTS
The department’s Instagram feed utilizes a cohesive color palette, consistent imagery, and well-planned layout to create a visually appealing and unified brand presence.
INSTAGRAM STORIES
